IDEAL Sport4All: inclusion and adapted sport take center stage in Romania

From October 3 and 4, 2025, Suceava (Romania) hosted the activities of the European project IDEAL Sport4All , dedicated to promoting sport as a tool for inclusion for people with disabilities. The Italian delegation from Dry Art was welcomed by the local partners of AJSPT Suceava , taking part in a series of meetings, adapted sports sessions, and discussions on European best practices in sports accessibility. On Friday, October 3 , at the Suceava Technical College gym , activities were organized for people with motor disabilities using wheelchairs, involving high school students in a shared participation experience.This was followed by interviews and direct testimonies aimed at collecting stories and perspectives from those who experience sport as a means of inclusion. IDEAL Sport4All gives voice to inclusion at the Bologna Sport Day

Several inclusive activities were promoted by IDEAL Sport4All, involving people with and without disabilities across different disciplines: Football, in collaboration with BFC Senza Barriere; Skateboarding, with demonstrations and sessions led by autistic youth from BSS; Integrated Muay Thai, organized by the Sempre Avanti asd, featuring participants with various motor and cognitive challenges. Adding an even more special touch to the day was the performance of the Rulli e Frulli Band, a marching band made up of young people with different disabilities. Their vibrant rhythm and energy enlivened the afternoon, engaging athletes, educators, and the audience in a spontaneous and joyful moment of sharing among the various sports and associations present. Inclusion and Sport, Together in Slovenia

Sport brings people together — even in the rain. On September 24th, 2025, in Murska Sobota, the Sports Union of Slovenia organized an inclusive event within the European project IDEAL Sport4All , gathering 46 participants with and without disabilities for a day dedicated to sharing and accessible physical activity for everyone. Five disciplines were featured — bocce, string bowling, darts, chess, and archery — all taking place simultaneously across indoor and outdoor spaces, showing how sport can adapt to any condition and any person. During the day, participants also took part in a guided warm-up session and visited the first beehive in Slovenia accessible to paraplegic individuals — a tangible symbol of innovation and inclusion. Inclusive sport, national events of the European project IDEAL SPORT4ALL kick off

During the latest coordination meeting with the partners, operational details were finalized: official graphics already sent to print, a shared folder with common interview questions, delegation logistics and hotel arrangements. The events will be an opportunity to collect stories and voices from different countries, highlighting the inclusive approach of sport. In Bologna, in addition to hosting international delegations, the final event in December will mark the conclusion of the project with the presentation of the documentary and the toolkit. Final Event Scheduled in Bologna on December 6

The sixth meeting of the European project IDEAL Sport4All took place, marking an important step toward the conclusion of the initiative. The project has already exceeded expectations with its training course , which engaged almost 270 participants compared to the 140 initially planned. Meanwhile, preparations continue for the upcoming “Sport for All” events: in Romania , the main event is set for October 4 , followed by adapted judo activities the next day; in Slovenia , partners are finalizing logistics and accommodations. The highlight will be in Bologna on December 6, 2025 , when the final event will bring together partners, institutions, and the public. The day will feature institutional greetings, presentations of project results, the toolkit and final documentary , and a roundtable discussion on four key themes: solidarity, welfare, health, and inclusive language. IDEAL Sport4All Partnership Meeting — Local Event Dates Confirmed and Documentary Plan

The IDEAL Sport4All partnership met online to review progress regarding upcoming events and the documentary. The events have been scheduled as follows: Slovenia : local event confirmed for 24 September 2025 (venue outside Ljubljana; details to follow). Italy (Bologna): event planned for 28 September 2025 . Romania : proposed reschedule to 4 October 2025 to optimize travel and ensure full media coverage. Dry Art , responsible for producing graphic and multimedia content, presented the documentary approach: a classic reportage combining footage of activities and interviews (preferably in local languages with English subtitles). Partners are asked to pre-identify interviewees (institutional representatives and participants), prepare basic data and figures (e.g. number of participants, stakeholders), and support privacy and consent procedures in line with EU and national regulations , with special attention to minors and vulnerable groups. Project Update: IDEAL Sport 4 All Progress

The IDEAL Sport 4 All project is moving ahead with great momentum. During the latest coordination meeting on April 30, 2025, several important updates were shared. The training manual, designed with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion, is nearing completion. It will be made available in multiple languages and converted into slide presentations to support the upcoming training sessions for sport operators. The training course itself is about to launch and will follow a hybrid format, combining online and in-person sessions to ensure broad participation. The aim is to engage both new and experienced operators in promoting inclusion through sport. Project resources, including the manual and slides, will be published on the official website and made available in a user-friendly, multilingual format.
