Inclusion and Sport, Together in Slovenia

Sport brings people together — even in the rain.

On September 24th, 2025, in Murska Sobota, the Sports Union of Slovenia organized an inclusive event within the European project IDEAL Sport4All, gathering 46 participants with and without disabilities for a day dedicated to sharing and accessible physical activity for everyone.

Five disciplines were featured — bocce, string bowling, darts, chess, and archery — all taking place simultaneously across indoor and outdoor spaces, showing how sport can adapt to any condition and any person.

During the day, participants also took part in a guided warm-up session and visited the first beehive in Slovenia accessible to paraplegic individuals — a tangible symbol of innovation and inclusion.

The award ceremony, with trophies and medals, celebrated the best athletes and teams in each discipline, but above all, honored the collective spirit of participation. The event concluded with refreshments, interviews, and the distribution of official event T-shirts to all participants.

With the support of the Sports Union of Slovenia and the collaboration of the Association of Paraplegics of Prekmurje and Prlekija, the event marked another important step in the journey of IDEAL Sport4All, which continues to promote an inclusive, barrier-free approach to sport across Europe — one that unites, empowers, and inspires.
